Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using Quelpit™

Last updated: June 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Quelpit™ ("the Platform," "we," "us," "our"), operated as a sole proprietorship registered in Alberta, Canada, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

Quelpit is an online marketplace that connects customers seeking help with moving, cleaning, furniture assembly, snow removal, and general household tasks ("Services") with independent service providers ("Helpers"). Quelpit does not itself provide any of the physical labour services listed on the Platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to book a service or apply to become a Helper on Quelpit™. By using the Platform, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Bookings and Payment

4. Cancellation Policy

Quelpit operates on a pay-on-arrival model — no payment is collected at the time of booking. This means cancelling your booking results in no charge to you at any time before your helper arrives.

Cancellation: Email support@quelpit.ca anytime before your booking starts. Your booking is cancelled at no cost — no payment has been taken.

Rescheduling: Free anytime. If you reschedule within 6 hours of your scheduled booking start time, a 10% rescheduling fee applies to your booking subtotal. This fee must be paid before the new booking is confirmed.

Helper no-show: You are never charged. Since payment is only collected when your helper arrives at your location, a no-show means no payment was ever taken. One free reschedule is always offered.

Processing fees are only applied at the time of payment when your helper arrives. No processing fee is ever charged on cancellations.

Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws, including Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002.

5. Helpers Are Independent Contractors

Helpers using the Quelpit platform are independent contractors, not employees of Quelpit™. Helpers are responsible for their own taxes, equipment (unless otherwise specified), and compliance with applicable laws. Quelpit complies with the Ontario Digital Platform Workers' Rights Act, including minimum per-assignment pay, recurring pay periods, and written pay breakdowns for Helpers operating in Ontario.

Helpers who hold a study permit or any other work authorization with hour restrictions are solely responsible for monitoring and complying with their permitted work hours across all employers and platforms. Quelpit does not track total hours worked by helpers across other engagements and accepts no responsibility for any immigration consequences, including permit suspension or revocation, arising from a helper exceeding their permitted work hours.

6. Customer Responsibilities

7. Helper Responsibilities

8. Non-Solicitation

Helpers agree not to solicit or accept direct payment from any Quelpit customer for services similar to those offered on the Platform for a period of 12 months following their last Quelpit booking with that customer. This clause does not restrict Helpers from accepting voluntary tips or gratuities offered by a customer in connection with a completed Quelpit booking. Customers agree not to directly hire or solicit any Quelpit Helper outside the Platform for a period of 12 months following their last booking. Violation of this clause may result in removal from the Platform and applicable fees as described in our Helper Agreement and platform policies.

9. Reviews

Reviews may only be submitted by customers with a verified, completed booking. Reviews are published as submitted and are not edited by Quelpit, except in cases of proven fraud or abuse. Reviews belong to the Helper and remain on their profile permanently unless removed for cause.

10. Limitation of Liability

Quelpit facilitates connections between customers and independent Helpers but is not responsible for the acts, omissions, or negligence of any Helper or customer. Quelpit does not provide insurance and does not cover or reimburse any damage, loss, or injury arising from a booking. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Quelpit's liability for any claim arising from use of the Platform is limited to the amount paid for the relevant booking, where such liability cannot otherwise be excluded by law. Customers and Helpers may have access to optional booking protection plans where offered, which are provided by third-party insurance partners and subject to their own terms.

11. Disputes

Any issue with a completed booking must be reported within 24 hours of the booking's completion. Quelpit will review the matter and aim to resolve disputes within 10 business days. One appeal is permitted per dispute.

12. Refusal of Service & Removal from Platform

Quelpit may refuse to process any booking, decline to onboard or continue working with any Helper, or otherwise restrict a person's ability to use the Platform, for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, repeated cancellations or no-shows, or behaviour that compromises the safety or trust of the Platform.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree that any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Platform will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario.
